Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affects 80/0 of Australian schoolchildren and half are medicated.
Pharmacists provide a valuable service to patients and families with ADHD. In September 2015, lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse), a novel ADHD medication, was PBS-listed.
This session provides an overview of what ADHD is, its subtypes and comorbidities, how ADHD is diagnosed and changes over time and the evidence of therapeutic outcomes including psychostimulant medication, atomoxetine and complementary therapies. Dr Zehetner will also provide an overview of the NSW Stimulant Subcommittee, of which he has been a member since 2012.
