The Bridging the Gap program in September and October will focus on depression and anxiety. Over 3 million Australians currently live with depression and anxiety. Despite the high prevalence, both are often under-treated and are important drivers of disability and morbidity in Australia.

Pharmacists provide mental healthcare services in a variety of settings and play an integral role in the management of depression and anxiety through multidisciplinary teams. This workshop will allow pharmacists to discuss quality use of medicines concepts that apply to the management of depression and anxiety.

The workshop will also explore ways pharmacists can optimise health outcomes for patients on antidepressant therapy, particularly during transition of care. This topic will be a joint presentation with NHVPA and will feature a specialist guest speaker in the area of depression and anxiety.
